COMILLA: Rail communications on Dhaka-Chittagong and Chittagong-Sylhet routes have resumed after seven hours’ disruption since a wagon of a cargo train derailed in Sadar South Upazila of the district on Friday.
The Dhaka-bound cargo train veered off the tracks in Harishchar area of the upazila around 9:00am.
Sources said, a relief train from Lakhsham rushed to the spot and rescued the detailed train around 4:05 pm. Five minutes later the train service became normal.
Comilla Railway Assistant executive engineer Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
