SATKHIRA: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 17 Bangladeshis while they were trying to illegal entry to India through Debhata frontier of the district.

Police sources said they, hails from Satkhira and Rajbari districts, were detained from South Kulia area of Debhata Upazila around 10:00pm Saturday.

Later, the BGB members handed them over to the Debhata Thana around 3:00pm Sunday.

BGB 34 battalion Deputy Director Najir Hossain Ovi confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police also filed a case under Passport Act with Debhata Police Station.
