DHAKA: At least four people were killed in separate incidents, including road accidents, in different areas in city on Monday.
An unidentified girl (20) was killed as a passenger bus hit her at Jatrabari intersection this afternoon.
Jatrabari Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abani Shangkar Kar said that police nabbed the bus driver and seized the vehicle.
The body has been sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Moreover, a painting laborer named Nazrul Islam Bablu (55), hailed from Shariatpur district, was killed in city’s Mirpur area as a truck knocked him down Monday early morning.
The deceased’s son Roman said that his father was returning home after works. Locals rescued him from the spot and rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries.
On the other hand, police recovered body of an unidentified man from Mohakhali at noon.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Banana Thana sub-inspector (SI) said that a man approximately 50 years old had been living for several days under the flyover. Later, he was found dead.
His body has been sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
Besides, an identified man was killed in a road accident near Shaheed Jahangir Gate in city Monday early morning.
Locals rushed him at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) where on-duty doctor declared him dead after arrival.
Tejgaon Thana sub-inspector (SI) Rajibul Islam told banglanews that the body has been sent to DMCH for autopsy.
