DHAKA: Law enforcers have detected some of the sexual harassers involved with the incident at Pahela Baishakh in city’s TSC area.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (detective) joint commissioner Monirul Islam told banglanews that they have detected some perpetrators after scrutinizing the video-footage.

He further said that a group of 10/12 persons were detected but their names could not be known.

‘We are trying to collect their names and addresses. Then we will take legal actions against them,’ he added.

According to the joint commissioner, the detected persons were not students of Dhaka University.

Monirul Islam said that they are working on the incident with zero tolerance to the criminals.

‘A high-level investigation team has been formed,’ he said, ‘a case has already been filed against the criminals under Women and Children Repression Act’.

The harassers have to be brought under trial, he stressed.

However, a group of miscreants assaulted some women during Bangla New Year celebration in city’s TCS area on April 14.
