DHAKA:  Prominent photo journalist Monwar Ahmed died at city’s Banganadhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) early Thursday.

He was 75.

Monwar Ahmed had been suffering from several diseases including Liver Cirrhosis for last six months.

He breathed his last at the hospital around 12:00am.

Monwar Ahmed worked for famous weekly magazine ‘Chitrali’ (now closed) as chief photo journalist. He was also famous for his photography in cinema world.

He left behind his wife and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

Deceased’s family sources said the body would be taken to national press club.
