DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her incumbent government is implementing the initiatives taken by father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The premier made the assertion at a Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and industries (BCCI)-organized program at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in city’s Agargaon area on Thursday afternoon.
The top business organization arranged a reception program for the prime minister.
At the program, the PM said Bangabandhu during his tenure in early 1970s took the initiatives in solving the problems of enclave people.
‘Unfortunately, the initiatives were not implemented after the tragedy of 1975,’ she added. ‘Now, we are taking steps in solving the issues.’
The premier also thanked India for approving the land boundary agreement.
