SIRAJGANJ: Two people were killed and two others injured as a truck plunged into a roadside ditch in Konabari Mafiz Mor under Kamarkhand Upazila of the district on Friday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Bangabandhu Bridge West Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Ahsan Habib told banglanews that the driver of a Dinajpur-bound truck lost his control over the steering and plunged into the ditch in the area around 11:30am, leaving two people dead on the spot.

Two other injured people in the accident were taken to the Sirajganj Sadar Hospital. Later, the injured were shifted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, he added.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the thana Helal Uddin told banglanews the bodies were kept under police custody.
