JESSORE: Two suspected muggers were lynched by agitated mob while trying to snatch motorcycle at Hudarajapur village of Sadar upazila of the district on early Monday.

The deceased were identified as Al-Amin, 27, of Arpara area and Ismail Hossain, 38, of Sheikhhati village of the upazila.

Jessore Kotwali Model Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Shikdar Akkas Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the duo followed one Barun Tarafdar while he was heading toward Bagharpara area riding motorbike.

At one stage, the snatchers, riding another motorbike, lost their control over the steering and fell from the vehicle. Locals rushed to the spot hearing the screaming of Barun for help.

They caught the suspected snatchers and beat them indiscriminately around 12:30am, leaving them severely injured.

Being informed, police rescued them and took them to the Jessore 250-bed General Hospital where the attending doctors declared them dead.

The deceased were listed snatchers. The law enforcers also recovered a pistol, two rounds of bullets and two knives from their possession, the OC added.
