CHITTAGONG: A total of 45 leaders and activists of BNP were released on bail from Chittagong Central Jail in Chittagong on Wednesday afternoon.

The released BNP men were arrested from the port city’s Nasiman Bhaban on January 5. However, law enforcers arrested around 300 leaders and activists on the day.

Chittagong Central Jail deputy jailer Mohammad Munir Hossain told banglanews that 45 accused have got release from the jail on bail.

Some of them got the bail from the High Court and some from Chittagong Metropolitan Judge Farid Alam’s court, he added.

Sources concerned said the release was made from afternoon to this evening.
