COMILLA: Two persons, including a kid, were killed and another sustained injuries in Daudkandi and Sadar South Upazilas of the district on Thursday.

Of the deceased, the child was identified as Taimon, 1, daughter of Ratna Begum of Satpara village of Daudkandi upazila.

Daudkandi highway police emergency source said a truck ran over Ratna and her one-year-old daughter on Dhaka-chittagong highway while they were crossing road in the area around 9:00am, leaving the kid dead on the spot and her mother injured critically.
She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

On the other hand, a worker was killed as a cement-laden truck turned turtle in Sodar South Padua Bazar area arouned 7:00 am.
The bodies were taken to Moynamati and Soudkandi highway thanas, said police.
