DHAKA: Seven people of a family sustained burn injuries as a fire broke out at a tin-shed house in city’s Kalabagan area Saturday morning following an explosion in gas pipeline of the house.
The injured were identified as Mamata, 50, Rubi, 40, Sumon, 30, Reshma, 25, Aoyan, 20, Bithi, 15, and Rabbi, 10.
Sources of Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) said that gas line of a tin-shed house exploded in the morning. Subsequently, the entire house caught fire, leaving seven people injured.
On information, four fighters units from Mohammadpur and Palasi stations rushed to the spot and doused the flame around 6:30am.
The inured were admitted at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH)
FSCD senior officer Abdul Alim of Mohammadpur station confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Alim said that reasons behind the explosion could not be known.
The explosion flung away several corrugated iron sheets of the house, caused cracks in the brick-built wall, added the officer.
