DHAKA: Cabinet on Monday approved a strategy for giving social security to those who are autistic and also vulnerable.

The cabinet approved the draft of ‘National Social Security Strategy’ with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

Cabinet secretary Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan informed the media after the meeting.

He said the government is currently spending 2.3 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for social security.

According to the secretary, ultra-poor and people in vulnerable condition will be brought under the social security program.

Moreover, government will put additional importance on the people with autism, he added.
