Jamaat’s registration cancelled

DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) on Monday informed the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) that the registration of Jamaat-e-Islami is cancelled.

EC senior assistant secretary Md Atiar sent an information statement regarding the matter to Parliament secretariat.

Earlier on August 1 of 2013, the High Court announced Jamaat’s registration as a political party as illegal.
