MADARIPUR: Two persons were killed as two groups of Awami League (AL) locked into a factional clash in Kutubpur area under Shibchar Upazila of the district Tuesday morning over establishing supremacy.

The deceased were identified as Arshed Matubbar, 34, son of Dalil Uddin, and Shajahan Gharami, 45. Both were hailed from Kutubpur.

Shibchar Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Abdus Sattar confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The OC said that two people were died after two groups of AL exchanged firings in the area around 6:30am to establish dominance there.

Panic gripped the area following the clash.
