City train kills banker

DHAKA: An official of a private bank was killed as Mahua Express train hit him in Azampur area in city early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Shahin Kader, 38, son of Abdul Mazid of Bashgari village under Bancharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria district.

Sources of the family said that Shahin was a senior officer of Uttra Bank Limited and worked at the bank’s Beanibazar branch in Sylhet.

Dhaka Railway Thana sub-inspector (SI) Ali Akbar confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy, Akbar said.
