CHITTAGONG: Local administration asked 666 families, dwelling in 11 risky hills of port city, to leave the area by June 8 ahead of monsoon rain.

The decision was taken at hills management committee on Tuesday morning at Divisional Commissioner’s office.

Owners of the hills, officials of different government offices were present in the meeting.

After the meeting, Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Abdullah confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said eviction drive with city corporation, CDA, WASA, Railway, Public Works officials will begin from June 9.
