DHAKA: A woman, who sustained burns in a gas-pipeline explosion at her house, dies at a hospital in city early Thursday after battling for life for four days.

The deceased were identified as Mamtaj Begum, 50. She breathed her last at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 1:00am.

DMCH police outpost In-Charge Sentu Chandra Das confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on May 30, seven people of a family sustained burn injuries as a fire broke out at a tin-shed house in city’s Kalabagan area following an explosion in gas pipeline of the house.

The explosion flung away several corrugated iron sheets of the house, caused cracks in the brick-built wall.

Other injured, however, are undergoing treatment at DMCH.
