NARAYANGANJ: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 detained eight members, including two women, of a kidnapping gang from different areas of Narayanganj district on Tuesday.

The detainees include Abdul Halim of Fatullah, Ranjita and Abdul Haque of Sonargaon, Tania Akhter of Comilla, Tareque, Jasim Uddin and Salahuddin of Siddhirganj and Rana of Munshiganj.

The RAB officials dislosed the matter in a press conference at its office in Adamjinagar area of Siddhirganj upazila Tuesday noon.

RAB-11 commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Anwar Latif Khan said the female members of the gang were netting the businessmen and wealthy people proposing relations through mobile phone calls.

Later, the gang members lock the victims when they come to meet and demand ransom, the commanding officer added.
