BRAHMANBARIA: Bangladesh and India are set to open the fourth border haat in Tarapur area along the Kosba frontier of Brahmanbaria district on Thursday.
Earlier on Sunday, the prime ministers of Bangladesh and India inaugurated the haat through video conference.
However, it will locally be inaugurated on Thursday.
The decision came after a meeting between two neighboring countries led by Nazma Begum, additional magistrate of Brahmanbaria, and DK Chakma, additional district magistrate of Sipahi district in India’s Tripura state.
Border Haat Management Committee organized the meeting in Kamalasagar Dighi area in India on Monday in this regard.
Infrastructure of the haat has been established by Bangladesh and India.
In the border haat, 30 Bangladeshi and 30 Indian businesspeople will be allowed to sell some fixed commodities.
It will remain open from 1:30pm to 5:00pm every Thursday.
