DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) governor asked all the financial institutions including banks to make the maternity leave for six months mandatory.

He made the instruction while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of IDLC-sponsored loan project for women at a city hotel on Tuesday noon.

The governor also instructed the organizations to provide all benefits to the women during their maternity leave.

He also asked the female workers to inform the central bank authorities concerned if there is any breach of this instruction.

Moreover, the central bank general manager (GM) AFM Asaduzzaman told banglanews they will issue a circular in this regard soon.
