DHAKA: Two cyclists were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Jaigirhat area under Mithapukur area of the district on Tuesday night.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Majnu, 26.

 Confirming the matter, Mithapukur Thana officer-in-charge Humayun Kabir told banglanews that a Bogra-bound truck, coming from opposite direction, ran over a bicycle, riding by the duo, in the area around 9:30am, leaving both of the cyclists dead on the spot.

The killer driver along with the truck fled the spot, the OC added.

The bodies were sent to Rangpur Medical College Morgue fro autopsy.
