DHAKA: Separate courts Monday granted bail to Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan in two more cases.

With the latest two, he got bail in all seven ‘harassment’ cases filed against him.

The hearings for the cases took place in the Additional Metropolitan Magistrates courts of AHM Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan and Mohammad Ali Hossain on Monday.

The first hearing took place with Mohammad Ali Hossain’s Court in a case filed in 2008 on a false charge of murder. Sobhan received the bail with an undertaking of Tk 20,000.

Another hearing took place in the court of Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan in another false murder case filed in 2006.

After hearing, this court also granted bail to Ahmed Akbar Sobhan.

Over 25 lawyers including Barrister Fazle Noor Tapash, Barrister Mehdi Hasan Chowdhury, Advocate Syed Rezaur Rahman, Advocate Gazi Shah Alam and Advocate Abul Kalam Azad moved for the BG Chairman.
