DHAKA: Biman Bangladesh Airlines started collecting increased excise duty from passengers of its domestic and international flights.
The increased excise duty was imposed from June 4, says a press release.
As per the release, passengers for domestic routs and also SAARC countries are now to pay Tk 500 in excise, the rest of Asian countries Tk 1,000 and other countries Tk 1,500.
As per release, the increased amount is as follows:
All the taxes and fees are generally collected during ticket sale.
Passengers, who had purchased their tickets without paying the increased amount of Excise Duty, are advised to contact Biman office or Travel Agent and pay the increased duty to avoid hassle at the airport.
