Nepal thanks Bangladesh for earthquake aid

DHAKA: Nepal government has conveyed its gratitude to Bangladesh for sending aid for the victims of devastating earthquake happened recently.

Nepal central Bank Governor Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal, on behalf of Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, handed over a letter of thanks to Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr Atiur Rahman after a meeting in city’s Hotel Sonargaon Friday afternoon.

Both governors earlier discussed different bilateral issues in the meeting.

General Manager of BB secretariat ASM Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Bangladesh sent 56,328 blankets, 5,507 tents and 2,376 bags and cartons to support the Nepal earthquake victims.

On April 25, at least 10,000 people were killed in the devastating tremor.
