DHAKA: A youth was killed as a passenger bus knocked him down when he was crossing the road in city’s Saidabad area on Saturday morning.

The victim has been identified as Farid Ahmed, son of Mansur Ahmed of Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur district.

Farid’s relative Abdul Barek told banglanews that after coming from Laxmipur for medical treatment Farid get down around 8:30am at Janapath intersection of Saidabad area. A passenger bus hit him when he was trying to cross the road.

Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctor declared him dead at 10:30am.
