RANGAMATI: Three United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) members were shot dead allegedly by miscreants in Bhai-bon Chhara under Langdu Upazila at 7:30am Sunday.
 
The deceased were identified as Amit Chakma, 29, Sujoy Chakma, 30 and Sumon Chakma, 30.

Locals said they heard sounds of gun firing in the area and later found three bodies.

UPDF spokesman Michel Chakma alleged that some activists of his party were staying at a house there. Later in the morning JSS Shantu Larma men opened brush fire on them, leaving three dead on the spot.

However, JSS Shantu Larma spokesman Sajib Chakma ruled out the allegation adding, “We have no terrorist in our party, rather we believe in democratic movement.”

Rangamati Police Super Sayeed Tariqul Hasan said, police team was sent to spot.
