Police assure security during Ramadan, Eid

DHAKA: Police inspector general (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque categorically said that law enforcers will work to ensure additional security to people during holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The police boss made the assertion at a press conference at police headquarters in city on Monday.

On extortion, he vowed to punish the criminals saying that he had already talked to the vehicle and vessel owners, who assured him all sorts of cooperation.

He also hoped to provide undisrupted electricity supply at the times of iftar, sehri and tarabi prayers.

He also informed the media that the law enforcers have advised the authorities concerned to install close circuit (CC) cameras at shopping malls and other strategic points of the city.

Police will also work to easy traffic congestion, he added.

He also requested people to be aware about the miscreants of ‘malam party’.
