COX’S BAZAR: Thirty seven more migrants, who are among the rescued boat-people in Myanmar waters, have been identified as Bangladeshis.
Process of their return to home is underway.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Cox’s Bazar sector commander Colonel MM Anisur Rahman told banglanews that there is a possibility of bringing the Bangladeshi nationals back after a flag meeting with Myanmar border force.
According to him, the meeting may take place at Naikhangchhari upazila frontier of Bandarban district either on June 17 or 18.
However, Myanmar navy rescued 727 boat people, who were trying to migrate to other countries, from its waters on May 29.
Most of the rescued people are called Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, who are being persecuted in Myanmar.
Over 150 Bangladeshis have already returned home.
