HILI (DINAJPUR): Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained six persons including women and children while they were retuning home illegally from India.

They were detained at 3:30pm on Saturday.

The detainees included Gouranga Das Rajbangshi (50), his wife Aduri Rajbangshi (40) and son Sanjay Rajbangshi (6) and Gita Rajbangshi (35) and her son Durga Rajbangshi (15) of Bandar upazila of Narayanganj district and Mahendra Chandra Sarkar (60) of Badda thana of Dhaka.

BGB Hili checkpost camp commander Nayek Subedar Abdul Jabbar told banglanews that a group of six people were returning home through Fakirpara frontier crossing the border illegally in the afternoon.

‘The detainees went to India illegally some day earlier,’ Jabbar said adding, ‘they have been handed over to Hakimpur Thana and legal action will be taken against them’.
