3 women held with 50,000 Yaba tablets

COX’S BAZAR: Police detained three women drug peddlers along with 50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Nazirpara area of Teknaf Upazila of the district early Monday.

The detainees were identified as Nasima Akhter, 20, wife of Abdur Rahman of Nazirpara area and two Rohingya women Rafita Begum, 20, and Taslima Begum, 18.

Teknaf Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ataur Rahman Khandakar told banglanews that they detained the three women from the area around 2:00am.

The law enforcers also seized a consignment of 500000 Yaba tablets and Tk 89,000 from their possession.

However, the trio will be produced before the court after filing a case against them, the OC added.
