DHAKA: A Dhaka court issued an arrest warrant against actor Ahmed Sharif in a cheque forgery case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman issued the order on Monday.

One of the lawyers of defendant Rokon Reza Sheikh confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said earlier the actor was summoned for a forgery in a cheque of Tk 1,67,00,000.

The warrant was issued as he did not appear before the court within the stipulated time, Rokon Reza added.

A businessman Mosharraf Hossain Sumon filed the case.
