MADARIPUR:  Two people were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a pick-up van in Kamaldi Bridge area under Rajoir Upazila of the district early Wednesday.

Details of the deceased driver of the pick-up van and his helper could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan of Rajoir Thana told banglanews that a Faridpur-bound pick-up van collided head-on with a bus of Eagle Paribahan on Dhaka-Barisal Highway, leaving two people dead on the spot and five others injured.

The injured were admitted to local hospital, the OC added.
