BANDARBAN: Members of an intelligence agency detained a Buddhist monk with 3,000 pieces of yaba tablets in Bandarban.

The detainee has been identified as Wanasara (33), son of Thui Shai Waar of Gazlia union of Lama upazila of the district.

National Security Intelligence (NSI) deputy director Mohammad Shahjahan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said that they detained the monk after calling him in disguise of retailers. ‘We have seized 3,000 pieces of yaba tablets from his possession,’ he added.
