DHAKA: Advance selling of bus tickets for holidaymakers ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival will start from Friday.
Respective bus service counters will provide tickets for 60 routes in north and southern regions of the country.
Bus counters will also take booking for return tickets.
Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association took the decision in a meeting held at its Gabtoli office in city on Sunday.
Advance tickets available at the counters on Friday
Hanif Paribahan passengers will get tickets at Balur Math of Gabtoli and Bagbari of Mirpur. Tickets will go on sale from 5:30am Friday.
Dipjal Paribahan tickets will be available at the counter near Sohrab petrol pump in city’s Technical area in Mirpur.
National Travels tickets will be available from its counter near Mohna petrol pump in Technical area. Nabil Paribahan tickets at Gabtali counter, SR Paribahan at Kalyanpur and Shyamoli Paribahan tickets will be available at Shyamoli counter near Government Primary School on Mazar Road in city’s Mirpur area.
Several bus servicing companies have decided to sell tickets through online booking. Some decided to sell tickets through Bkash payment.
Besides, Sohag Paribahan, Shyamoli Paribahan, Nabil Paribahan and SR Paribahan are providing online ticket booking service.
Many transport companies have reached an agreement with online ticket sales organization sohoz.com.
However, tickets for July 13 will be available on July 09 and for July 14 on July 10, for July 15 on July 11, for July 16 on July 12 and tickets for July 17 will be available on July 13.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will start selling tickets from July 10. Decision will be taken soon after holding a meeting.
The tickets of July 13 will be available on July 9 and for July 14 on July 10, for July 15 on July 11, for July 16 on July 12 and for July 17 tickets will be sold on July 13.
Moreover, people can collect the return tickets of July 20 on July 16.
Tickets for July 21 will be available on July 17, for July 22 on July 18, for July 23 on July 19 and for July 24 tickets will be available on July 20.
