Felani Killing: Amiya Ghosh acquitted in retrial

DHAKA: A special court of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in West Bengal delivered its verdict of the revision trial in the Bangladeshi girl Felani Khatun killing case early Friday.

After three days’ hearing, the court upheld its previous verdict that acquitted the BSF constable Amiya Ghosh, lone accused in the case.

A BSF General Security Forces court in Cooch Behar of India conducted the hearings of the revision trial and passed the verdict around 12:30am.

September 6, 2013, the same court acquitted the accused of the murder, Constable Amiya Ghosh.

On January 7, 2011, Felani Khatun shot dead by BSF firing while she was trying to cross the barbed-wire fencing near Border Outpost Choudharyhat in Coochbehar of West Bengal.
