JHENAIDAH: A student of Dhaka University (DU) was killed and four others were injured in aroad accident in Kaliganj Upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam, 25, a masters student of Peace and Conflict Studies department of DU and son of Joynal Bepari of Jessore.

The injured-- Ritu, 20, Mini Khatun, 40, Sattar, 55, Ikra, 28—were admitted to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex.

Kaliganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain told banglanews that a human hauler, carrying Aminul and others, was heading towards Kaliganj town around 11:30am.

On arrival at Shibnagar Gulshan intersection, its driver lost control over the steering while giving side to a shallow engine-run Nasimon and hit a parked truck, leaving Aminul dead on the spot.
