DHAKA: Two police officials were killed and two others sustained injuries in a road crash in South Keraniganj of the district on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Mohsin, 40, an assistant sub-inspector of police and constable Kamrul, 30.

South Keraniganj Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Jamauddin Mir confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said a private car hit a roadside tree as its driver lost control over the steering in Mollar Pool area on Dhaka-Mawa highway around 10:30pm. Then a passenger bus knocked the car, leaving four people, including two police members, injured.

The injured were taken to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital. Later, Mohsin was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while Kamrul to Pangu Hospital as their condition deteriorated.

On arrival at DMCH, duty doctor declared Mohsin dead and Kamrul succumbed to his injuries around 2:00am.
