Over 4,000 railway houses occupied

FROM NATIONAL PARLIAMENT: Rail minister Mazibul Hoque admitted that many of railway houses are still remained under occupation across the country.

According to the minister, they have identified 4,538 houses as occupied so far.

Mazibul made the disclosure when replying to a question by ruling Awami League lawmaker Nurnabi Chowdhury at the House on Sunday.

Without mentioning the places the minister further said that they have started eviction drives.

To another question, the minister said that the government is working to gradually improve facilities of toilets and waiting-rooms in country’s 458 railway stations.

He further informed the House that a total of 106-km new rail tracks have been constructed since 2009.
