DHAKA: Directorate of Food submitted their report to the High Court (HC) claiming that the wheat imported from Brazil is fit for consumption.
However, the HC has fixed July 8 as date of its order on writ filed in this regard.
A bench of Justice Kazi Reza-ul Haque and Justice Abu Taher Mohammad Saifur Rahman fixed that date on Sunday.
Earlier on June 30, the HC ordered the authorities concerned to submit the report on the quality of the wheat after a hearing on the writ petition.
Food directorate director general (DG) Foyez Ahmed in his report said that the directorate has examined the wheat in several laboratories, including of its own.
According to the DG, the test reports showed that the imported wheat is fit for human consumption.
The HC will pass its order on July 8.
