DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep condolence to the death of a pioneer of country’s agro-processing industries and Pran-RFL Group’s founder Major General (retd) Amjad Khan Chowdhury’s demise.

In her condolence message, the PM recalled his invaluable contribution to the development of industries in the country.

The premier said Chowdhury was a leading industrial entrepreneur and played an important role in upgrading Bangladesh to a middle-income country.

"His strides are consistent with Bangladesh's goal of becoming a middle-income country by 2021 and developed one by 2041," she added.

Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
