Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing

SATKHIRA: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Bangladeshi cowboy on Kushkhali border in Satkhira sadar early Saturday.

The victim was identified as Mukul Hossain, son of Mahtab Uddin of Hawlakhali village in Sadar upazila of the district.

Villagers said the BSF troops opened fire at Mukul when he along with others was returning home through the border in Dubla area in Indian territory around 3am, leaving him dead on the spot.

Major Mozammel Haque, deputy commanding officer of Satkhira-38 Battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said, “We heard the incident. Inquiry is underway to inform details.”
