DHAKA: A son killed his father at Baunia Purbapara area under Turag Thana in city Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abul Hashem, 55, hailed from Board Bazar area of Gazipur district while his son was identified as Manik, 22.

Deceased’s relative Selim told banglanews Manik’s father followed him when he (Manik) went to visit a relative’s house at Turag by riding his father’s motorcycle as he was an addict.

Later, Manik attacked his father Abul Hashem in the area with sharp weapon as he took the bike from his son, he added.

Local people rushed Abul Hashem to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 5:00pm.

Officer-in-Charge of Turag Thana Mahbubey Khoda confirmed the matter to banglanews.
