DHAKA: A man was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police at Abdul Kaiyum road of Baishcheck area in capital’s Kafrul area early Monday.

Pallabi Zone assistant police commissioner jakir Hossain told banglanews that tipped-off that Salam, accused of 30 cases, along with his gang members were staying there police conducted the drive.

Sensing the lawmen’s presence, criminals opened fire to them. Police also retaliate with gunshots, leaving Salam bullet-wounded.   

Later, bullet-hit Salam was taken to Dhaka medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead 1:20am.

Police said two foreign-made pistol and two round bullet were recovered from the spot.
