GAZIPUR: At least six people injured as auto rickshaw drivers locked into a clash with police in Tongi college gate area on Monday morning.

Locals said, as a part of countrywide protest against ban, auto rickshaw drivers and workers here tried to bring out a procession carrying sticks on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.

Later police charged baton to disperse them, leaving six injured.

Vehicular movement remained normal on the highway and additional law enforcers deployed in the area, confirmed Tongi Thana Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Ali.
