NOAKHALI: Leader of Manik Bahini was beaten to death by angry mob in Muhithkhola bazaar area under Sonaimuri upazila of the district Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Manik, 35, son of Golam Rahman of Begaumganj upazila of the district.

He was fugitive death-row convict in the sensational Shima killing cases of Laxmipur district.

Locals said Manik along with his gang attacked a house in Muhithkhola bazaar area under Sonaimuri upazila. During the time, locals caught him and gave him a good beating, leaving dead on the spot.

Begumganj-Sonaimuri circle assistant police super (ASP) Khandaker Hasan Imam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On information, police rushed to the spot around 9:00pm and recovered Manik’s body.
