Blogger Niloi’s wife describes killing

DHAKA: “Niloi was sitting in the drawing room with his laptop on. My sister, Tanni, was also in the house in Khilgaon area of the city.”

“Suddenly a youth, around 20-year-old, came to my house in the name of renting flat.”

“I said to him, we are not leaving the flat and did not say anything about it to house owner. How could you then take rent?”

“He said, the house owner told me to take a look.”

“The young man was doing something on his mobile. After some time, another three people, one was bearded, carried three machetes and a pistol, also entered my flat.”

“I went inside to tell the matter to Niloy.”

“At a stage, they made me hostage pointing pistols to my head and locked me in the veranda.”

“They, then, started chopping my husband reciting ‘Allahu Akbar’. I started screaming for help, but none came.”

Murdered blogger Niloi Neel’s wife Ashamani was describing the murder scene of her husband to media and also claimed that before one month he was threatened over mobile.

Besides, two persons followed him while he was returning from a human chain demanding trial of blogger Ananta’s killers.

After receiving death threat, Niloi went to police station to file a general diary (GD) but Ashamani did not know whether it was filed.

Demanding trial of the killers, Ashamani said, “Such incidents happened earlier. But the killers were not punished. Had the culprits been punished I would not have lost my husband.”

After the murder of Niloi, Juba Maitree’s central committee member Ashamoni is also feeling unsecured.
