DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-4 detained seven members of an alleged carjacking gang from Savar area early Monday.

Besides, two private cars were seized from the detainee’s possession during the drive.

Assistant director (legal and media wing) Major Maksudul Alam of RAB headquarters confirmed the matter to banglanews.
 
He said the gang has been stealing cars from different places of the country, including the capital for long.

Acting on tip-off, a team of RAB conducted drive and detained them.

He, however, did not disclose identity of the detainee.

Details would be disclosed in a press conference at RAB-4 headquarters in city’s Mirpur area later in the day, Maksudul added.
