MEHERPUR: Dead bodies of two schoolgirls, who went missing after a boat capsized in the Bhoirab River, from near the Tasikpur ghat in Mujibnagar upazila of the district Monday morning.

Fire service diver Billal Hossian recovered the bodies around 7:30am.

The deceased were identified as Bobita Khatun, daughter of Hashem Ali and Tania Khatun, daughter of Habur Ali of Rasikpur village. Both of them were class-VII students of Bagoan High School.
 
On Sunday, they went missing while returning from school as a boat capsized in the river for overloading.

Mujibnagar Thana officer in-charge Kazi Abdus Salek told banglanews that the bodies were handed over to family members.  

The boat capsize incident is being investigated, he added.
