BENAPOLE (JESSORE): A 15-member high-level delegation of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has reached India on Monday morning to take part in a training course on border management.

India’s Border Security Force (BSF)-40 commanding officer colonel Bargendar Singh received the BGB delegation with flowers at ‘No Man’s Land’ near Benapole check-post.

The visiting team also received a guard of honor at Haridaspur BSF camp.

The delegation, led by Dinajpur BGB-29 battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Korban Ali, included four lieutenant colonels, six majors and five assistant directors.

BGB sources said that the training program will be held at Ketanpur BSF Academy in India’s Madhya Pradesh province.

They are scheduled to return home on August 22, the sources added.

Confirming the matter to banglanews Jessore BGB-22 battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain hoped that the training will play an important role to prevent human trafficking and smuggling as well.
