Face music for hurting religious sentiment

DHAKA: Home affairs minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal warned that those involved in hurting religious sentiment will face punitive action under traditional law.

The minister made this warning while replying to a question by a journalist after the inaugural program of narcotics control department Dhaka regional office in city’s Gandaria area on Tuesday.

He said nobody will be allowed to attack on religious sentiment in blogs or anywhere. If anybody does it will face punitive action.

On the murder of blogger Niloy Neel, home minister said that sufficient clues have in their hands regarding the murder.



‘We are trying to arrest the real criminals after scrutinizing the evidences,’ Kamal added.

He also assured that if any evidences found against police if they are found guilty regarding their refusal in filing a general diary by the slain blogger.

Earlier in the inaugural ceremony program, Asaduzzaman Khan commented that it is not possible for police administration alone.

According to the minister, assistance from all people in society is needed to curb the use of narcotics in the country.
